Fire Against a Wall
Tweet
Journey to the Celestial City #15. In our continuing look at John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress," today we find the man, Christian, viewing the fourth sight of seven shown to him by the Interpreter. This fourth sight is of a fire burning against a wall. The devil is casting water upon it, yet the fire burns higher and hotter. This is due to the man behind the wall feeding the fire with oil. The picture is of Christ who, by His grace, maintains the Christian's life. No matter what the devil throws at us, he cannot extinguish the flame. You're not alone in your walk with God. "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6) More to come in the next blog post. Check back soon.
