Better Late Than Never

Journey to the Celestial City #25. In our continuing look at John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress," today we find the man, Christian, having navigated past the lions with no injury, he arrives at the house built by the Lord of the hill. He's greeted by Watchful the Porter who inquires as to the reason for his lateness of arrival. With a sour countenance Christian recounts of his having to backtrack due to his indulging of the flesh. And God would have us to the place of blessing sooner except that we stray from the path of obedience. Are you straying today? It's time to get back on track. Better late than never. "Do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God." (Romans 6:13) More to come in the next blog post. Check back soon. (To read this entire blog post series, scroll down to "Pilgrim's Progress Series" in the left sidebar.) pp 38
