Releasing Your Story
Tweet
The flames were as hot as the sun. You talk about a not so good day / bad chapter. How would you like it if you were about to be cooked? (And with your best friends no less?) It's what was happening to three Hebrew guys. They were the meat on the menu. They were to be burned in a furnace of fire. The order was given: "Well done." So in they went. And what's interesting about it is none of the three fought it. They weren't dragged. They didn't go kicking and screaming. They weren't heard saying, "Now wait a minute. This isn't how the story is supposed to go." And I'm convinced it's because Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were able to release their story ~ it's chapters, it's climax, ultimate outcome, closing scene ~ into the hands of a living God. Do you happen to remember how it ended? The Author and Finisher of their story (faith) showed up. (Hebrews 12:2) It was a happy ending. (Let go of your story.)
"Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, 'Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?' They replied to the king, 'Certainly, O king.' He said, 'Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!'" (Daniel 3:24-25)
